Kara Nicholls is the Founder of Impact Governance and the creator of The PowerIntent Framework®.
Across more than three decades in executive leadership and boardroom environments, Kara has seen the same pattern repeat: governance frameworks prove their real value not in calm conditions, but under pressure, when scrutiny, disruption or change test whether decisions are informed, and whether power is being exercised the way it is meant to be.
That observation led her to develop The PowerIntent Framework® — a way of seeing beneath formal structures to where power actually sits, whether intent aligns with outcomes, and what an organisation can see before risk surfaces.
Kara works selectively with boards, CEOs and governance leaders, and continues to serve on boards and committees herself.
Raised in Guyra, NSW, she is a committed advocate for rural and remote communities, child and gender safety, and better health outcomes.
